How it works

Cloud gaming runs the game on a remote server and streams video to your phone while sending your inputs back. Your phone just needs to decode video — so even a budget device can theoretically play demanding titles.

The connection is everything

• Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi or a strong 5G signal; 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi adds noticeable lag.
• Expect roughly 15–25 Mbps of steady bandwidth for 1080p streaming.
• Latency matters more than raw speed — test with a free tier before subscribing.
• A Bluetooth controller transforms the experience for action games.

Is it worth it?

Cloud gaming shines for trying big titles without downloads or hardware upgrades, and for playing on devices that could never run them locally. It's less ideal for competitive shooters where every millisecond counts. Treat subscriptions as rentals: great for sampling, questionable as your only way to play.
